Grindi

STORY:

Knife of the character from the Volsung saga, Grindi was the uncle of the dragonslayer Sigurd and it was he who predicted Sigurd's fate. Blade pattern symbolizes bird's feather- (Sigurd eat up a part of the dragon meat, and thanks to that he understands the birds' speech, by this way he was warned about betrayal of his companion Regin.

DECORATING:

Decoration of casted parts is inspired by the historical style of the Viking age- (Jellinge ,year 900-975.) In the apple tree core wood is a woodcarving showing connection between characters - (Grindi and Sigurd.) The cowhide sheath is decorated with Jelling-style knotwork.This knotwork also pointing on connection between Grindi and Sigurd. character's name is carved on the back of the sheath with runes - (Grindi.)

Multibar damask blade consisting of 3 rods.

Hardness - 58-60hrc

19.8 cm long

5.5mm thickness

HANDLE:

Handguard, ending - casted bronze.

Wood - Apple core.

SHEATH:

Cow leather
