Stribog

The sword of Stribog, slavic god of the wind and storm. This hand work is a combination of a prestige forge-welded blade, carved termoid ash wood, ebony wood and silver that complements the reindeer antler. 
Inspiration for the basic shape of this sword consists of the historical Slavic sword of Blatnica (Petersen type D).

SYMBOLISM:

The decoration of this sword is a combination of Slavic history and mythology. The decoration consists of the Slavic style ornaments and symbols depicting Stribog, his mythological meaning and its attributes.

Slavic mythology speaks about Stribog as a master of wind and storm. He can be both good and bad, brings happiness but also misfortune. His name is probably derived from silver, because of that i was chose silver to manufacture the components for this piece. His symbol is the white horse on which he ride. 4 horseheads are placed in a Slavic ornamentation on the components of the sword handle. Over the horseheads is face of Stribog at middle of pommel. These heads also show the horses of the four Stribog's sons. The reindeer antler in the middle of the grip shows two spikelets, these spikelets shows Stribog's influence on the crop of Slavic people as it controlled the wind and thus the weather. Decoration of scabbard is also a combination of ornaments and symbols. At the center of the scabbard is inlay from ebony wood. In termoid ash wood is woodcarving who shows Stribog,slavic ornamentation and spikelet. In the top silver component of scabbard is seated natural abrasive amethyst (15 carats) as a majesty. (Amethyst - sensitively cleanses the aura, heals the cracks and protects it by bringing divine energy into it).

Multibar damascus blade composed of 6 Rods. Hardness of the blade 53-54 hrc.
